i first read about this movie two years ago and finally I
got the chance to watch this film only recently...
before, i was hesitant to watch this movie because most
movies with this theme does not have story at all and it only exploits its
actors...
and then i was wrong, all the raves and review i read about
this movie were all true...
finally! finally! an indie movie which tackles a story of
gay love that all filipino can be proud of...
so what set this movie on top of the flock?
- first, the movie is well polished and the cinematography
is well crafted that further reinforces the message it wants to deliver to its
audience...
- second, the main actors (cogie domingo and sid lucero) acted
naturally and superbly to the point that there is no scene that is annoying...
- third, there is no music score that is an overkill which is very typical for a filipino movie
that drags a certain scene insanely...
overall, the length of the movie is 2hr which is a considered
long for an indie movie but the movie is well paced which makes the smooth flow
of the story... no part of the movie is boring and all the scenes were
relevant...
on a personal note, what i like most about this movie is the
story... how the movie manages to portray a great love story between two individuals
and how the movie floats gracefully as it tells their story and their journey
towards loving, bearing, losing, hiding and hoping...
the commitment between these two individuals is inspiring
that may move gays in real life to not lose hope... that great love never dies,
and love will certainly conquers all...
likewise, i must agree with one of the review that the most
noteworthy about the movie is its screenplay where it manages to balance the
movie towards contrite certainty... and the last part of the movie is for me
the most critical part because it brings the story into warm close where it
genuinely delivered the remarkable positive ending on love and life...
this movie which has this kind of theme will certainly be on
mah top lists... i give this movie 5 / 5..
